The Chapel attracts people from a broad social and professional spectrum, and from a wide geographical area. Some of us come from traditional religious backgrounds and are looking for alternatives. Some come from no religion at all - and are seeking a tolerant, open-minded community in which to express their views. We have members who self identify as Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Pagan, and Buddhist. Most members are eclectic, drawing on a wide range of sources for their spiritual and moral life. The Unitarian tradition affirms such diversity, while uniting us in time honored values such as loving kindness, the free search for truth, human dignity, and compassion. We gather to deepen our spiritual and moral lives, so we may help create a better world. Membership of our congregation does not require the acceptance of any particular set of beliefs, as we believe:
- That no single faith or set of beliefs possesses all the answers
- That each individual has the right to find their own path, based on their own experience, reason and reflection.
- Rosslyn Hill Chapel offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, in which people can come together to explore matters of meaning and truth in their search for spiritual, intellectual and emotional growth.
