The Chapel appointed Rev. Jim Robinson as its Minister in May of 2004. He was ordained into the Unitarian Ministry in 1978 and has served churches and chapels full time since then. The worship services he leads draw inspiration from all the major world religions as well as from the arts and sciences. Jim was previously Minister at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, Brewster, Massachusetts. After completing a BA and MA from University of Michigan he was awarded Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School in 1978. He was ordained into the Unitarian Universalist Ministry in 1978. He was Associate Minister at First Parish, Concord, MA (1978 - 1982) and then Senior Minister at First Parish, Brewster, MA (1982-2004).
In 2003, the Pickett Award was given to First Parish. This is the highest award given to a local Congregation by the American Unitarian Universalist Association. His personal theology is eclectic and draws from humanism, all the world religions, and the natural sciences. He works to create diversity of theology and life styles within a local congregation. He integrates music and the arts into worship services and regularly invites lay speakers to participate in worship.
