After an interim period following the return of Rev. Jim Robinson to his native USA in April 2010 we are delighted that Rev. Dr Patrick O'Neill has now become our settled Minister.
Rev. O'Neill is a distinguished preacher with long experience in pastoral ministry. Before coming here he was Senior Minister at First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn, NY. He has been a Parish Minister for thirty-one years, ministering to small, medium, and large congregations. He was brought up a Roman Catholic, but left this faith at the time of the Vietnam War.
Rev. Patrick has a B.A. in History, an M.A. in Divinity Studies and D.Min. in Pastoral Ministry. He received the Meadville/Lombard Billings Prize for Excellence in Preaching.
In 1992 he received the Martin Luther King Local Clergy Award from New Bethel Baptist Church in Framingham, "For Community Interfaith Service in the Spirit of Dr. King", an achievement of which he is most proud. In 2005 Rev. Patrick was given the great honour of preaching the Sermon of the Living Tradition to three thousand people at the UUA Annual General Assembly.
